Bob Zeepvat BA FSA MCIfA   Principal Archaeologist

Bob read archaeology at Leicester University, graduating in 1972. He has been a validated full member of the IfA since 1986, and was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in 2013.  From 1975-94 Bob worked for Milton Keynes Archaeology Unit, directing major excavations at Bancroft villa, Great Linford and Caldecotte, and publishing the results. More recently he was Post-Excavation Manager for the Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust and Historic Buildings Consultant and Manager of Archaeological Services & Consultancy, before setting up Bancroft Heritage Services in 2014.

Bob has extensive experience of work on a wide range of historic buildings and artefacts, and has an impressive track record of archaeological publication.  His broad knowledge of archaeological sites and techniques is complemented by his interests in the archaeology of the Roman and later periods, in historic buildings and industrial archaeology.  Bob acts as Historic Buildings Consultant for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, and is Associate Editor of the county journal of archaeology and history, Records of Buckinghamshire.
